PSYCHOTHERAPY

Do you spend most of your time & energy taking care of others, draining yourself in the process? Do you stress about doing everything just right, or ensuring that other people think you have it all together? You’re not alone. We’ve been conditioned to put ourselves last. We’re taught we have to be amazing at everything we do to matter what. You shouldn’t have to live this way. Living this way can threaten our wellbeing and our identity; even invite depression and anxiety.

Common treatment approaches include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Family/Marital, Integrative, Mindfulness-based and more.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Chiropractic?

The word “chiropractic” comes from ancient Greek and means “done by hand.”

Adjustment of the joints of the body has been used in health care for many centuries and is at the heart of modern chiropractic care.

Chiropractors are specialists in manual adjustment of the vertebrae of the spine and other joints. Adjustment helps relieve pain and restore normal functioning to the spine, joints and supporting structures of the body – so you can enjoy your everyday activities again as quickly as possible.

Chiropractors are also trained to prescribe therapeutic exercise, provide nutritional counselling, and recommend rehabilitation and injury prevention strategies.

Does chiropractic care hurt?

Yes and no. There may be some discomfort around the injury being treated due to inflammation around the muscles or joints. Care is taken to minimize the discomfort so that you feel relaxed and comfortable while the doctor works to make you pain free.

Is chiropractic care covered by OHIP?

Chiropractic services are not covered under OHIP. However many extended health plans do cover a portion of chiropractic services.

Will I need X-rays?

X-rays can play an important role in diagnosis and are taken when a need has been determined after taking a patient case history and conducting a physical examination.

Each case is unique and will be discussed with the Chiropractor whether or not an Xray will be required
